Face to face White Card Course on the Sunshine Coast

If you want to work in the construction industry, you are required by law to successfully complete a General Safety Induction course (White Card). This course meets Workplace Health and Safety Regulation 2011 and covers the skills and assessment necessary for a worker to enter and work on a construction site in Queensland. On successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a White Card.

Previously this course able to be completed online. However, there was a major change affecting the students to are eligible to complete online training for the unit CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry course. Now, most students are required to complete the white card course in a face-to-face setting.

If you are a Sunshine Coast resident and require a White Card, Allens Training now offer regular face to face white card courses in our Birtinya Training Centre.

Course Description:  A construction worker must have completed general construction induction training (commonly known as the “White Card”) before being permitted to commence work on a construction site. This is a mandatory requirement across Australia.

If you have never worked in the construction industry before or you have lost your White Card; then this is the course for you.

This course will help introduce you to or serve as a reminder of the current health and safety legislative requirements, personal awareness, and the basic principles of risk management for working in the construction industry in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.

It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

Award issued - CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (QUEENSLAND – General Construction Induction Card)

Cost: $110 per participant

Time: 4 hours face-to-face training

Location: Allens Training Birtinya, 8/10 Capital Place Birtinya

Target Audience: This unit is designed to meet WHS regulatory authority requirements for WHS induction and must be achieved before access to any building and construction work site. The target group will be people requiring training to safely work on construction sites including, but not limited to - workers and persons who enter operational construction sites, trades people, labourers, project managers and supervisors.

Prerequisites: There are no prerequisite, entry, work-placement, licensing or certification requirements for this course.

Why should I get a White Card?

With the boom and increased demand for construction workers, the demand for white card courses has increased and is probably one of the more popular short courses. Anyone that enters a work site will likely need a white card. This not only includes construction workers but project managers, architects, labourers, apprentices, supervisors and anyone that is carrying out work on site.

Is the White Card recognised across all States and Territories of Australia?

Yes, the QLD White Card is recognised in all States and Territories of Australia.
