Description: This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance and provide advance training in the use of auto injectors for the treatment of anaphylaxis and the advance treatments associated with Asthma. It also covers all of the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.

Duration: 4 hours face-to-face training with some pre-course study
Award Issued
This course is a skill set combination course designed for child care workers. At the successful completion of this course participants will be issued with a statement of attainment for:
- HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- 22282VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace
- 22300VIC Course in first aid management of anaphylaxis
It is recommended this unit be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisite, entry, work-placement, licensing, or certification requirements for this course.
Assessment procedure
Assessment is at the end of the course to show the instructor that you have an appropriate understanding of the procedures necessary to manage a life-threatening situation.
This will consist of a theory assessment and practical demonstrations.
Award Issued
At the successful completion of this course participants will be issued with a statement of attainment for:
