Car registration labels (rego stickers) have been phased out by all states in Australia with Queensland the last state to drop rego stickers, effective from 1st of October 2014.

From as far back as I can remember, rego stickers were always attached to the car constantly reminding you of when your vehicle registration was due.
Now, the only reminder is from the Queensland Governments transport department so there is a good chance your registration payment could be missed and even worse, you could be caught and fined for driving an unregistered vehicle…ouch! This is even more likely if you have moved house in the last year and have not have updated your details.

Always do your own rego check to see if the vehicle registration status is current - it is the responsibility of the driver to check the car registration status before driving it.

There is a simple way to do this check and that is to download ‘QLD Rego Check a Smartphone App’ that is available for Queenslanders (by the way most states will have one available). You can check the vehicle registration status quickly by either entering the rego number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This is a Free app and works really well.

You can download the QLD Rego Check app for your Iphone, or Android mobile device from the App Store or Google Play
