Our record of employing women in our workplace is something we are very proud of.

Across our various locations:

  • 85% of the employees in our head office are women
  • 66% of staff in our Noosa office are women
  • 75% of staff are women in our Birtinya training centre

We are blessed and hope your workplace truly appreciates the women that are building your business as much as we appreciate the women that are inspiring us every day.

#BEBOLDFORCHANGE

International Women’s Day has been celebrated since early last century, and in most countries, including Australia, the annual date has been fixed as 8 March since 1914. The focus of the day may vary from country to country; however, the day is primarily an opportunity to honour women and acknowledge and celebrate their contributions to families, workplaces, communities, and the world.

Each year, United Nations develops a theme for the day, and in 2017, the theme is ‘Women in the changing world of work: planet 50-50 by 2030’. International Women’s Day (IWD) has condensed this into a hashtag #BeBoldForChange, encouraging people to help forge a more gender inclusive working world.

On the Sunshine Coast, you can choose to attend breakfasts, morning teas, lunch or a cocktail party:

Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network is hosting a breakfast at Novotel Twin Waters, with guest speaker Nicole Eckels, founder of Sapphire Group (responsible for Glasshouse Fragrances). An exhibition of black and white photos by John Dumble will be displayed at the venue – ‘Inner Sense’ is about women and how they see themselves, and explores the innermost feelings of the photographic subjects.

The Australian Institute of Management is hosting a long lunch at the Best Western – Oceanside Kawana Hotel, with Guest speaker Senator Claire Moore. She will join a panel of local business women, including Roz White, Elaine Jobson and Feda Adra, for a Q & A session about their experiences as successful women in business.

Ladies @ Lunch 4573, Real Women Global, and Coolum Beach Hotel are hosting a morning tea at the Coolum Beach Hotel to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Creative Women’s Circle is hosting a morning tea at Rosemount to celebrate International Women’s Day and to support creative women in the Sunshine Coast community.

The Zonta Club of Noosa is hosting a breakfast at the Riverdeck Restaurant and Bar, with guest speaker Frederika Steen, talking about the challenges facing female refugees in Australia.

The Zonta Club of Caloundra is hosting cocktail party at the Caloundra Regional Gallery, with guest speaker Donna Penny, author of ‘Why My Mummy’ – an inspiring story of courage in the face of adversity.

Choose your event, get a party of friends together and join other Sunshine Coast women in celebrating International Women’s Day on 8 March 2017.

Or come to an Allens Training Sunshine Coast CPR or first aid course that day and get a qualification that will help you to make your mark as a woman ‘in the changing world of work’.
