Do you want a pay rise this year?

Are you missing out on up to $800 a year in pay you are entitled to and didn’t know about because you are not claiming your First Aid Officer Allowance?

Many industries and awards provide for a First Aid Allowance of between $11.00 and $16.00 a week if you are appointed as a designated First Aid Officer in your workplace.

The Fairwork Ombudsman has a list of pay guides listing general awards, many of which include the provision for payments of First Aid allowances for trained First Aid Officers.

The following link applies to workers in the social and community services industry where similar rates of First Aid Allowances apply -

Please note that the standard industry award may not apply to your workplace due to enterprise bargaining or other factors and similarly, a first aid allowance may not be listed as a part of your standard award, but your employer may choose to pay an allowance.

Often the requirement to receive a First Aid Allowance is that the employee must hold and continue to hold current First Aid qualifications (including annual CPR Training) for the period of appointment as a designated First Aid Officer.

Workplace practices may limit the number of people receiving the allowance in any given workplace or require the person to undertake other duties including stocktake of First Aid kits.

Any student that receives a Statement of Attainment from Allens Training can be assured that our courses fulfil the requirement to be a First Aid Officer in your workplace as they are nationally recognised.

If you’re interested in becoming a First Aid Officer in your workplace, book into an Allens Training First Aid course with us, or one of our partners, and speak to your boss about that pay rise.

Share this and let your friends know they too could be missing out on pay they are entitled to receive (but at least make sure you get them to buy you a coffee with all the extra cash they are making).

First Aid Courses in our Sunshine Coast First Aid Training Centre can be booked by calling our office on 5438 8888 or by booking online via our website.
